What this section is

Rate restrictions (Restrictions hub) covers MLOS (Minimum Length of Stay), maximum stay, CTA (Closed to Arrival), and similar controls that protect compression dates. Set them on Pricing calendar or Rate plans in PMS, then copy to Booking.com / MMT (MakeMyTrip) or your external CM — FindMyStay does not push restrictions automatically. Finish with a Rate attestation so the Distribution dashboard stays honest.

In the owner dashboard

Open Rate restrictions under Listing / Property after you claim a stay. Same vocabulary as Help Academy.

~10 min

Typical time to read this guide and complete the screen once for a small property.

Distribution · Revenue management

Steer rates with the revenue hub, restrictions, dynamic pricing hints, competitor logs, booking pace, and OTB forecast.

Help cues

When to use it

Cue 1

Diwali / New Year weekend — force 2-night minimum.

Cue 2

CTA on Friday so guests cannot book a one-night Friday only.

Cue 3

Cap very long OTA stays that block peak inventory.

Do this

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Open Rate restrictions

Distribution → Restrictions. Use links to Pricing calendar and Rate plans — this hub explains the workflow.

India example: Diwali Fri–Sun · MLOS 2 · CTA Fri.
  2. 2

    Set rules in PMS

On Pricing calendar (per date) or Rate plan defaults, apply min/max stay, CTA, stop-sell where supported.

India example: Pricing calendar · 24–26 Oct · MLOS 2 · Deluxe BAR unchanged.
  3. 3

    Mirror and attest

Update OTA extranet / CM with the same restrictions → Distribution → Rate attest (publish log).

India example: MMT MLOS 2 applied · Rate attest success · notes Diwali.

Tips

Restrictions without OTA mirror still allow one-night OTA bookings — always finish on the channel. · Remove MLOS after the peak so mid-week fill is not blocked forever.

Common mistakes

Setting CTA in PMS only and wondering why Booking.com still sells Friday arrivals.

Staff training

Detailed examples

Full India-hotel scenarios — same structure as Help Academy. Follow on the live screen with your team.

Example 1: Diwali weekend — MLOS 2 and CTA Friday

Setting

24–26 Oct peak · stop one-night Friday arrivals.

Who is involved

Owner · Revenue staff

Restrictions in PMS alone do not stop Booking.com. Mirror + Rate attest closes the gap.

# What staff do What they should see
1 Restrictions hub → Pricing calendar · MLOS 2 · CTA Fri PMS protected.
2 Update B.com / MMT extranets the same way Channels match.
3 Rate attest · notes Diwali MLOS Audit trail on Dashboard.
End result: Peak nights sell as 2-night stays, not fragments.
