What this section is

Remittance reconciliation records money the OTA actually paid into your bank for a period. Enter figures from the remittance advice / settlement PDF — not an automated bank feed. Capture period, gross, commission, net, actual received, remittance date, and bank ref / UTR (Unique Transaction Reference). Optional line detail links up to a few stays by OTA ref or reservation. Match status tracks whether the batch agrees with folio expectations; variance belongs in notes for the accountant.

In the owner dashboard

Open OTA reconciliation under Listing / Property after you claim a stay. Same vocabulary as Help Academy.

~12 min

Typical time to read this guide and complete the screen once for a small property.

Distribution · Commissions & payouts

Track OTA commission per stay and reconcile bank remittance batches against statements.

Help cues

When to use it

Cue 1

MMT or Booking.com weekly/fortnightly payout hits the bank.

Cue 2

Accountant asks for UTR and period totals.

Cue 3

Commission register shows recorded lines waiting for a batch.

Do this

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Open Remittance reconciliation

Distribution → OTA reconciliation (or Commissions hub → Reconciliation).

India example: MakeMyTrip · period 6–12 Jan.
  2. 2

    Record the remittance batch

Channel, period start/end, gross, commission, net, actual received (if bank differs), remittance date, bank ref/UTR, status (e.g. open → matched), notes.

    India example: Gross ₹1.82L · comm ₹32.8k · net ₹1.49L · UTR · status matched.
  3. 3

Tie stays and close the loop

Optional lines: OTA ref / reservation + amounts. Then settle related commission register entries and investigate variance (TDS, promo, chargebacks).

India example: Three stays linked · ₹200 variance = MMT promo fee · noted for Finance.

Tips

Actual received ≠ statement net → check bank charges, TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) if applicable, or partial remits. · Dashboard “pending remittance” shrinks only when you record batches — empty reconciliation keeps the tile high.

Common mistakes

Booking remittance as “hotel revenue” without subtracting commission — owners then overstate cash available.

Who is involved

Accountant Meera · Owner

Enter the batch from the PDF, paste the UTR, then settle commission lines. Note any variance instead of forcing numbers to match.
