What this section is

External CM (Channel Manager) is for hotels that push rates/availability through a third-party CM tool, not through FindMyStay APIs. Register the CM here so staff know where the “truth push” happens. FindMyStay still expects you to attest publishes after you change the CM or OTA extranets — there is no live pull/push from this screen.

In the owner dashboard

Open Channel manager integration under Listing / Property after you claim a stay. Same vocabulary as Help Academy.

~9 min

Typical time to read this guide and complete the screen once for a small property.

Distribution · Channel Manager

Manual OTA distribution: dashboard, connections, external CM, publishing workspace, and rate/availability attestations.

Help cues

When to use it

Cue 1

Property already uses Staah / SiteMinder / similar for OTAs.

Cue 2

New GM needs to know which login updates inventory.

Cue 3

Monthly verification that the CM property mapping still matches PMS room types.

Do this

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Open External CM

Distribution → Channel manager. Add a channel_type channel manager row with name, URL/notes, sync method External channel manager.

India example: Staah · property ID in notes · External CM · Active.
  2. 2

    Document the workflow

PMS Pricing calendar / Availability is source of truth → update CM → OTAs follow CM → attest in FindMyStay Rate/Avail logs.

India example: Diwali BAR ↑ in PMS → push Staah → attest Rate sync 24–26 Oct.
  3. 3

    Verify periodically

Verify records that someone confirmed mapping and that CM still matches sellable stock. After major room-type renames, re-verify the same day.

India example: Renamed Deluxe → verify Staah room mapping · Verify button.

Tips

If you only use OTA extranets (no third-party CM), skip this screen and use OTA connections + Publishing workspace. · Never claim “API connected” in staff chat — the product is manual until a real adapter is authorized.

Common mistakes

Updating only FindMyStay rates and assuming the external CM copied them — CM does not read PMS automatically.

Staff training

Detailed examples

Full India-hotel scenarios — same structure as Help Academy. Follow on the live screen with your team.

Example 1: Staah is the push tool — FindMyStay is the ledger

Setting

Udaipur property uses Staah for Booking.com + MMT; FindMyStay holds PMS rates.

Who is involved

GM · Night auditor

External CM records where inventory is pushed. Attestations still happen in FindMyStay after Staah updates, so owners can see audit history in one place.

# What staff do What they should see
1 Distribution → Channel manager → add Staah External CM · Active · notes with property ID.
2 Raise Diwali BAR in Pricing calendar PMS source of truth updated.
3 Push Staah → Rate attest in FindMyStay Last rate attestation refreshes on Dashboard.
End result: Clear ownership: PMS → CM → attest.
