What this section is

Conflicts lists inbox items stuck in status Conflict — Apply could not safely create or update a reservation. Common causes: duplicate OTA ref on a new import (reservation already exists — use amend), modify/cancel with no matching active reservation, or bad data. Review the issue note, fix in inbox or PMS, then Apply again or Dismiss. Check Overbooking if dates push sellable stock over limit.

In the owner dashboard

Open Booking conflict management under Listing / Property after you claim a stay. Same vocabulary as Help Academy.

~9 min

Typical time to read this guide and complete the screen once for a small property.

Distribution · OTA reservations

Bring OTA bookings into PMS: booking inbox, amend/cancel sync, and conflict resolution.

Help cues

When to use it

Cue 1

New import fails: “Duplicate external ref — use amend”.

Cue 2

Cancel email arrives but booking was never imported.

Cue 3

Dashboard / Conflicts count is not zero before peak arrivals.

Do this

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Open Conflicts

Distribution → Conflicts. Read Ref, Event, Guest, Stay, Channel, and Issue note.

India example: BCOM-44021 · New · Duplicate on reservation #318.
  2. 2

    Choose the fix

Duplicate new → Dismiss the new item and use Amend / cancel if something actually changed. Missing reservation on cancel → import first or cancel manually in PMS then Dismiss. Bad dates → correct via a fresh inbox row if needed.

India example: Dismiss duplicate new · guest already in PMS #318.
  3. 3

    Clear the queue

Apply when safe, or Dismiss with a reason in notes/team chat. Link to Overbooking monitor if inventory is at risk.

India example: Queue 0 · pending inbox only genuine news.

Tips

Zero open conflicts is a good night-audit Distribution check. · Never Apply a duplicate “new” hoping it will merge — it will conflict again; amend instead.

Common mistakes

Dismissing conflicts without checking Front desk — a real guest may still be arriving.

Example 1: Duplicate new import for an existing B.com ref

Setting

Staff re-enters BCOM-44021 as New · reservation #318 already exists.

Who is involved

Front office · Night auditor

Conflict protects you from a second booking. Dismiss the duplicate new; use Amend only if something actually changed on the OTA.

# What staff do What they should see
1 Distribution → Conflicts BCOM-44021 · Duplicate on #318.
2 Confirm #318 is the real stay in All reservations Guest already on books.
3 Dismiss conflict row (or amend if dates changed) Open conflicts count drops.
End result: No double booking; queue clean.
