What this section is

Stock transfer relocates inventory between warehouses/stores without “using it up”. MAIN → KIT rice still belongs to the hotel; KIT on-hand rises and MAIN falls when the transfer is posted.

In the owner dashboard

Open Stock transfer under Listing / Property after you claim a stay. Same vocabulary as Help Academy.

~9 min

Typical time to read this guide and complete the screen once for a small property.

Inventory · Stock movements

Move stock with audit trails: GRN (Goods Receipt Note), issue, transfer between stores, and adjustments.

Help cues

When to use it

Cue 1

Sending 10 kg rice from MAIN to kitchen before dinner.

Cue 2

Replenishing HK store from MAIN bulk.

Cue 3

Correcting stock that was received into the wrong store (via proper transfer, not silent edit).

Do this

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Open Stock transfer

Inventory → Stock movements → Stock transfer. From-store, to-store, SKU lines, qty.

India example: MAIN → KIT · 10 kg basmati.
  2. 2

    Move physically, then post

Carry/move goods, then Post transfer so both stores update. Unposted transfers cause one store to look rich and the other poor.

India example: Bags moved to KIT · Post · MAIN −10 kg · KIT +10 kg.
  3. 3

Confirm on Dashboard / store qty

Spot-check both locations. Kitchen should see KIT stock available for service.

India example: KIT basmati now sufficient for dinner tickets.

Tips

Same unit of measure as Item master — do not transfer “1 bag” if SKU is kg without converting. · Inter-property transfers (if used) need extra Finance care — follow your org rules.

Common mistakes

Using Issue instead of Transfer to KIT — kitchen “consumption” appears instantly though stock is still in the kitchen store.

Staff training

Detailed examples

Full India-hotel scenarios — same structure as Help Academy. Follow on the live screen with your team.

Example 1: MAIN → KIT 10 kg basmati before dinner

Setting

17:00 · kitchen store low · MAIN has bulk bags.

Who is involved

Meera · Kitchen storekeeper

Transfer keeps KIT as a real store — not instant “issue/consumption”.

# What staff do What they should see
1 Stock transfer → MAIN to KIT · 10 kg basmati Draft ready.
2 Move bags · Post transfer MAIN −10 · KIT +10.
3 Kitchen confirms KIT qty Dinner rice covered.
End result: Both stores correct; cook is not raiding MAIN unmarked.
