Advances & settlement records money against banquet bookings: type (advance/token, milestone, final settlement, refund), date, amount ₹, method, UTR/reference, notes (codes EPAY-…). Balance by booking = contract (or charges total) − paid. Aim to settle before function day; red due amounts are a sales/ops risk.

Chase to zero
Before function day, due should be ₹0 (or documented credit). Refunds use type refund — do not delete history.
India example: Final ₹3.15L · settled · due ₹0.
Tips
Paste bank UTR every time — Finance recon needs it. · Token before confirming status on the booking is good discipline.
Common mistakes
Cash in the drawer with no EPAY row — banquet AR disappears.
